Khan Academy, in collaboration with Pixar Studios has launched a new course on their site, aptly titled ‘Pixar in a box’. Its sponsored by Disney, and going by what I’ve watched so far, its a wonderful journey just as captivating as Pixar’s other epic success stories.
Building an animated movie is no small feat. It involves artists, story tellers, engineers, designers and marketers to name a few on the team. When we watch Toy Story on our screens, we are looking at the result of years of imaginations and work of these teams. This course takes you behind the scenes, and gives you a glimpse of what goes on when the studios wants to create a scene showing thousands of robots, to building characters and constructing sets. There’s math involved every step of the way, and these videos give an overview of the basic concepts involved.
